Stepping Up to the Plate

One does not have to have a formal title to take action in order to lead. In most instances, our everyday leader heroes are just doing the work that needs to be done in a manner that subsequently brings great credit upon them.

Leading means “stepping up to the plate” or getting involved when needed without having to be asked to get involved.  It may be the person walking down the street who finds a piece of litter and picks it up and puts it in a trash receptacle, or someone who, when there is work to be done, takes action and gets the job done willfully and by his own initiative.  One does not have to have a formal title to take action in order to lead.  In most instances, our everyday leader heroes are just doing the work that needs to be done in a manner that subsequently brings great credit upon them.
